Available in 1.5 to 5 ton configurations (18,000–60,000 BTU/h), it pairs with the EVOX G³ Air Handler for a complete ducted system exceeding ENERGY STAR Most Efficient and CEE Advanced Tier specifications, with up to 19.0 SEER2 and 10.8 HSPF2.

Midea EVOX G³ Xtreme Heat Inverter Heat Pump (MO1HE / MO1SE Series) – Supplied & Professionally Installed by 4Most Energy

The Midea EVOX G³ Xtreme Heat outdoor unit is a next-generation inverter-driven heat pump built specifically for cold-climate performance. Powered by Midea's proprietary M-Powevi compressor technology — a real two-stage refrigerant compression process with intermediary injection — the system surpasses the DOE Cold Climate Heat Pump Lab Test with a COP of 2.4 at 5°F / -15°C and delivers 118% of rated capacity at -13°F / -25°C. With SEER2 ratings up to 19.0, HSPF2 up to 10.8, and EER2 up to 12.5, this unit exceeds ENERGY STAR Most Efficient specifications across the full product line. It operates on R454B refrigerant, an A2L low-GWP (466) refrigerant ready for current and future compliance requirements. AHRI Certified and ETL Listed (cETLus) for Canada and the United States.
High-performance equipment does not guarantee system efficiency on its own. In Ontario, correct refrigerant piping, nitrogen pressure testing to 500 psig, vacuum evacuation to 500 microns, and compliance with CSA B52 and the Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1) are mandatory for safe operation. Outdoor unit placement must clear anticipated snowfall by a minimum of 11.8 inches (300mm) — a critical requirement given Ontario's winter conditions — and clearances must meet manufacturer specifications to prevent coil icing, airflow restriction, and compressor damage.
4Most Energy supplies and installs the Midea EVOX G³ outdoor unit across the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, handling every technical step: site assessment, concrete pad or wall-bracket mounting, refrigerant line sizing and flaring, nitrogen leak testing, vacuum evacuation, refrigerant charging per R454B line-length formulas, 24V or RS485 communication wiring, and full commissioning. Whether replacing a conventional central A/C or upgrading from a gas furnace to an all-electric system, our licensed technicians ensure the installation meets Ontario Building Code requirements and manufacturer specifications — protecting your warranty and maximizing system performance from day one.

M-Powevi Compressor Technology — Built for Canadian Winters

The G³ outdoor unit uses a true two-stage refrigerant compression cycle with intermediary injection of refrigerant vapor. At extreme outdoor temperatures, the compressor supplies mid-temperature vapor to increase the total mass of compressed refrigerant — dramatically improving heat output when conventional heat pumps struggle. Passed the DOE Cold Climate Heat Pump (CCHP) Lab Test: COP of 2.4 at 5°F / -15°C and 118% of rated capacity at -13°F / -25°C with a COP of 1.92 (based on Midea 3-ton system testing).

Horizontal Discharge / Vertical Heat Exchanger Design

Unlike traditional outdoor units, the EVOX G³ uses a horizontal discharge fan with a vertical high-efficiency heat exchanger. This produces more uniform heat exchange velocity across the entire coil surface — delivering stronger heating output as temperatures drop, exactly when you need it most.

Extreme Operating Range

  • Heating operation: -22°F to 75°F (-30°C to 24°C)
  • Cooling operation: -22°F to 122°F (-30°C to 50°C)
  • Operating humidity: 0–80%

R454B Refrigerant — Low GWP, Future-Ready

Uses R454B refrigerant, an A2L classification with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 466 — significantly lower than R-410A (GWP 2,088). Designed around R454B for full compliance readiness as Canadian refrigerant regulations tighten.

Compatible Communication Protocols

Supports both RS485 (non-polarity, 20 AWG shielded) and 24V thermostat signal communication. Compatible with third-party 24V thermostats, Midea wired controllers, BACnet/IP, and the Midea SmartHome app. Auto-identification of communication mode via DIP switch configuration.

Demand Response / CTA-2045 Ready

Supports demand response capability — reduces or shifts electricity consumption during peak grid hours. Compatible with Ontario utility programs and smart grid infrastructure.

OTA Firmware Updates & iCheck Self-Diagnosis

System firmware updated over-the-air (OTA). The iCheck function performs diagnostic checks across EE errors, indoor/outdoor communication, sensors, load, protection, and filter status — all via the SmartHome app.

Auxiliary Heat

For Ontario homes with significant heating loads, the optional 3-stage auxiliary electric heat kit (10kW / 15kW / 25kW) can be added to the indoor air handler. This provides supplemental heat during extreme cold events or defrost cycles without compromising comfort. 4Most Energy assesses auxiliary heat requirements during the quote process.
Important: Oversizing causes short-cycling, reduces dehumidification, and shortens compressor life. Undersizing results in inadequate heating at design conditions. Always base final sizing on a proper load calculation.

4Most Energy handles the complete supply-and-install process across the GTA and Ontario.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The Midea EVOX G³ delivers 100% of rated heating output at -13°F / -25°C and continues operating down to -22°F / -30°C. Toronto's 99% heating design temperature is approximately -15°C, meaning this unit operates at or above rated capacity through the vast majority of Ontario's heating season. For extreme cold snaps, the optional auxiliary electric heat kit provides backup staging.

R454B is an A2L classification refrigerant with a GWP of 466 — vs. 2,088 for R-410A. A2L means mildly flammable under specific conditions, which is why installation requires a certified technician, leak detection compliance per CSA B52, and proper ventilation. 4Most Energy is fully trained and equipped for R454B systems.

In most cases, yes. The EVOX G³ system is designed as a direct replacement for gas furnace + A/C setups. The G³ air handler matches the width of same-capacity gas furnaces, uses existing ductwork, and connects to most 24V thermostats. A site assessment by 4Most Energy confirms compatibility.

The EVOX G³ uses a single horizontal-discharge fan with a vertical heat exchanger, producing more diffused and quieter airflow than traditional upward-discharge units. Consult your 4Most Energy technician for model-specific noise data.

Ontario homeowners may be eligible for rebates through the Canada Greener Homes Grant, the Canada Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program, or utility-specific programs. Rebate availability changes frequently — 4Most Energy will advise on current programs during the quote process.
