The 4Most Energy Edge: Precision Hydronic Balancing
A circulator pump is the "heart" of your boiler system. If it’s too small, your radiators stay cold; if it’s too large, you waste energy and hear rushing water in your pipes.
- Custom Sizing for Your Piping: We don't believe in "one size fits all." Our experts match the Grundfos 3-speed technology and the correct flange size to your specific pipe diameters—whether you have 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2" piping.
- Universal Material Compatibility: Our specialized technicians ensure a leak-proof connection to your existing infrastructure, including PEX, Copper, Black Iron, or SharkBite fittings. We match our flanges and transitions to your specific pipe material for a perfect seal.
- 3-Speed Optimization: We calibrate the pump's speed (Low, Med, High) based on your home's vertical lift and loop length to maximize comfort and minimize electrical consumption.
Warranty Highlight
Industry-Leading Reliability: This pump features an Industry-Leading 3-Year Warranty from Grundfos. When installed by 4Most Energy, you also receive our 1-Year Labor Guarantee, ensuring your system stays pressurized and warm all winter long.

Features
- 3-Speed Technology: Allows the pump to be adjusted to the specific hydraulic needs of your home, replacing over 130 competitor models with a single unit.
- Wet Rotor Design: The pump and motor form an integral unit without a shaft seal; the bearings are lubricated by the pumped liquid, ensuring whisper-quiet operation.
- High Starting Torque: Patented electronic starting unit provides reliable startups even after long summer shutdowns.
- Check Valve Included: Features a removable check valve that eliminates the need for an external in-line flow check.
To ensure a perfect match for your mechanical room, please confirm the following:
- Current Pipe Size: Are you connecting to 3/4", 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2" pipe? (We will provide the matching flange).
- Current Material: Is your system piped in Copper, PEX, Black Iron, or another material?
- Number of Zones: How many thermostats/zones does this pump serve?
- Current Pump Model: Are you replacing an existing pump? (We can cross-reference it for you).
- System Diagnostics: We check your current flow requirements to select the optimal speed setting.
- Isolation & Drain: We use isolation valves (if present) to replace the pump without draining your entire heating system.
- Flange Matching: We install new gaskets and the correctly sized flanges (3/4" to 1 1/2") for your pipes.
- Electrical Connection:Quick-connect terminals ensure a safe and tidy electrical setup.
- Air Purging: We run a system bleed to remove trapped air, preventing "gurgling" noises and air locks.
We provide the correct matching flange kit for your specific home plumbing:
- 3/4" & 1" Piping: Standard for most residential radiator or radiant floor loops.
- 1 1/4" & 1 1/2" Piping: Ideal for high-flow main headers or light commercial applications.
- Hybrid Connections: Specialized transition fittings for PEX and Black Iron to ensure a professional, code-compliant seal.
Frequently Asked Questions Grundfos 3-Speed Circulator Pump with Flange
How many pumps do I need for my boiler system?
It depends on your system design. Every boiler requires a system pump (the "heart" of the system). Most modern Combi boilers come with a system pump already built-in, while Heat-Only boilers typically require one to be added externally. If your home has multiple heating zones, you may need multiple pumps to handle the hydronic loops along with a controller to manage them. Our experts offer free design consultations via phone to help you determine the exact quantity and size needed for your home.
Does a new circulator come with a new boiler installation?
4Most Energy always suggests replacing existing circulator pumps when installing a new high-efficiency or wall-mounted condensing boiler. Reusing an old, high-friction pump can reduce the efficiency of your new boiler. This will be included as a recommended item in your 4Most Energy quote.
Which speed should I choose?
Our technicians use the performance curves (Low, Med, High) to match your system’s "head" (resistance). Setting it too high wastes electricity, while too low causes uneven heating. We set it correctly for you during installation.
Can this pump handle Glycol?
Yes, Grundfos UPS pumps are compatible with standard hydronic glycol mixes. If your system requires a Glycol Make-up Package (GMP), let our experts know.
